SURABAYA - Director of Retail and Commerce of PT PLN (Persero) Edi Srimulyanti conducted inspections of a number of Public Electric Vehicle Charging Stations (SPKLU) in East Java to ensure service readiness for electric vehicle travelers ahead of Eid al-Fitr 1446 Hijriah.

Inspections were carried out at SPKLU Rest Area 754A, SPKLU Rest Area KM 819A (direction Surabaya), SPKLU at PLN UP3 Pasuruan Office, and SPKLU Rest Area KM 792B (direction of Malang), which is a strategic route that is often traversed by travelers in the East Java region.

"We want to ensure that electric vehicle travelers can travel comfortably without worrying about running out of power. PLN is committed to supporting the clean energy transition, and this is part of our efforts to provide the best service," said Edi Srimulyanti while reviewing the SPKLU at Rest Area KM 819A, Saturday.

On this occasion, Edi Srimulyanti also had a dialogue with a number of electric vehicle users. One of the travelers, Rizky (34), who was traveling from Surabaya to Situbondo, appreciated the SPKLU services available in the rest area.

"I feel very helped by the availability of SPKLU on the homecoming route. The fast charging process, the application is easy to use, and the facilities are adequate. This makes the trip more comfortable and safe," said Rizky.

General Manager of PLN Main Distribution Unit (UID) East Java Ahmad Mustaqir added that PLN has prepared 339 SPKLU machines in 206 locations, three SPKLU Mobile units, and 1,680 officers on standby throughout East Java.

With the distance between SPKLUs now closer, about 26 km, travelers can easily access charging services.

"We also provide standby and lounge posts to ensure customer convenience during charging. In addition, the road trip planner feature in the PLN Mobile application allows electric vehicle users to plan trips and access SPKLU location information in real-time," said Ahmad Mustaqir.

PLN continues to be committed to supporting electric vehicle infrastructure in Indonesia as part of efforts to encourage the use of clean and sustainable energy.
