JAKARTA - The National Narcotics Agency (BNN) is seeking to pursue drug criminals on the wanted list (DPO) abroad, as well as confiscation of assets belonging to drug syndicates abroad.
"In a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs (Menlu) Sugiono in Jakarta (25/3) it was revealed that currently there are several drug dealer DPOs who have fled abroad. This has the potential to hinder law enforcement in Indonesia," said Head of BNN Police Commissioner General Martinus Hukom in Jakarta, Friday.
In addition, he mentioned that there are also various assets of drug dealers related to narcotics trafficking, who are abroad to avoid confiscation by law enforcers in Indonesia as an effort to impoverish drug dealers.
Therefore, Martinus hopes that Foreign Minister Sugiono can strengthen diplomacy with various relevant countries to accelerate the extradition process and return assets resulting from drug crimes that are abroad.
