KKB Member Nikson Matuan Immediately Undergoes Trial Of Brimob Shooting Case And Civilians

JAKARTA - Member of the Armed Criminal Group (KKB), Nikson Matuan alias Okoni Siep, who is also a suspect in a shooting case, will soon face trial. This is because investigators handed it over or stage two to the Jayawijaya District Attorney.

The delegation process which took place at the Jayawijaya District Attorney's Office under strict supervision from the Cartenz-2025 Damai Ops Task Force, on Friday, March 21.

"The handover process is complete, Nikson Matuan is escorted to the Class II B Wamena Prison for the detention process. Furthermore, he will undergo the detention process as a detainee for the Jayawijaya District Attorney," said Head of Damai Cartenz, Brigadier General Faizal Ramadhani in his statement, Wednesday, March 26.

Nikson Matuan is known to have been involved in a number of violent acts, including the shooting that killed Muktar Layuk and injured Korinus Yohanis Wentken on November 5, 2024 on Jalan Trans Wamena-Jayapura, Hobakma Village, Yalimo Regency.

In addition, he was also involved in the shooting incident that killed Brigpol Anumerta Iqbal, a member of Brimob Ops Damai Cartenz-2025, on January 17, 2025, at the same location.

Nikson Matuan was arrested by the Cartenz Peace Operations Task Force in Yalimo Regency on February 2, 2025 after being on the wanted list (DPO).

In addition, the Head of the Public Relations Task Force for the Peace Operations of Cartenz, Kombes Yusuf Sutejo, emphasized that this step was part of the commitment to law enforcement. His party will continue to take action against the perpetrators of crimes in order to create security and order in Papua.

"This is part of an effort to uphold justice so that the perpetrators are held accountable for their actions before the law," said Yusuf.
