Central Java Governor Checks Klaten-Yogyakarta Toll Readiness

Central Java (Central Java) Governor Ahmad Luthfi checked the readiness of the toll road from Klaten to Yogyakarta, to ensure that it was ready to be used during the 2025 Eid homecoming and return flow.

The 15.325 kilometer long road from Klaten-Prambanan-Kalasan (Yogyakarta) is an advanced route from the Kartasura-Klaten Toll Road (22.3 km) which is operational and effective.

The plan, Luthfi explained that the freeway will be free starting March 24, 2025.

"It will be opened on March 24, entering this toll road, you still have to 'tap', yes, because there is already an e-toll substation. But the balance is complete, aka free," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, March 21.

The free route is the Klaten-Prambanan toll road which has a length of 8.6 km. The toll road has been completed and has gone through a feasibility test, with the lighting being sufficient, including a pointing sign.

As soon as Prambanan arrived, travelers who were going to Yogyakarta did not need to leave the toll road, but could continue their journey through the Prambanan-Taman Martani Kalasan toll road along the 6.725 km.

Kalasan is the last toll point that travelers have been able to pass this year from Solo to Yogyakarta.

Especially on the Prambanan-Kalasan toll road, he reminded travelers to remain careful because construction construction reaches 90 percent and the road status is opened functionally.

The former Central Java Police Chief explained that the toll road was an access for travelers who were going to or cross Central Java.

In addition, there are North Coastal Routes (Pantura), Southern Line and South-South Line, as well as alternative routes that can be crossed.

Ahead of the Eid Al-Fitr 2025 homecoming flow, Luthfi also appealed to prospective travelers to always maintain caution, because Central Java can be a point of saturation for travelers after traveling far from other provinces.

He asked travelers to prepare stamina and maintain body fitness by getting enough rest first, including checking the condition of the vehicle before being used for homecoming.

"Obey traffic signs, tired of resting first. Please stop at the culinary first in Central Java, MSMEs are ready. Buy food, snacks, and souvenirs," he said.

This year's Eid homecoming is predicted to peak on March 28-30, 2025, while the return flow of Eid is estimated on April 5-7, 2025.
