TANGERANG - The Indonesian government has repatriated 554 Indonesian citizens (WNI) victims of online fraud (scam online) in Myawaddy, Myanmar, today through Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Tangerang City.
The Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Menko Polhukam), Budi Gunawan, stated that the repatriation process would be carried out in stages by the Joint Task Force consisting of the Indonesian Embassy in Yangon, the Indonesian Embassy in Bangkok, and the National Police, under the coordination of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Kemenlu).
"On March 18, the first flight has landed, carrying 200 Indonesian citizens who were victims. Then, later at 11.00, the second flight will also carry 200 Indonesian citizens who are victims," Budi told reporters, Tuesday, March 18.
Meanwhile, the repatriation of 154 other Indonesian citizens will be carried out on Wednesday. They will be temporarily placed at Wisma Haji, Pondok Gede, for three days.
