Fairmont Hotel Security Guard Submits 2 Evidence Of Reporting Activists Against The Revision Of The TNI Law

The police said that there were two pieces of evidence attached to the Fairmont Hotel security report regarding alleged criminal acts related to public order.

The report relates to the raid on the DPR Commission I meeting which the government discussed the revision of the TNI Law (RUU) by several members of the Civil Society Coalition, on Saturday, March 15.

"There were two pieces of evidence that were submitted. The first one was an electronic CCTV video unit, then one electronic video unit or video documentation. It was conveyed to Polda Metro Jaya," said Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Ade Ary Syam Indradi to reporters, Monday, March 17.

Later, the two pieces of evidence will be investigated in order to determine whether or not the report can be increased to the investigation stage.

Meanwhile, regarding the steps of deepening that have been or are being carried out, Ade is reluctant to explain in detail, including the matter of the clarification process for the reporter. Only conveyed by Polda Metro Jaya will investigate all reports made by the public.

"What is clear is that the investigation stage is ongoing in the context of deepening," said Ade.

Previously, Ade had explained the beginning of the alleged criminal act of general order. It started when several people from the civil society coalition entered the Fairmont Hotel, Central Jakarta. Then they shouted in front of the door of the discussion meeting room for the revision of the TNI Law.

"(The goal) is to stop the meeting because it is carried out secretly and behind closed doors," said Ade Ary.

For this incident, the victim felt aggrieved so that he made a police report regarding the eviction. The report is registered with the number LP/B/1876/III/2025/SPKT/POLDA METRO JAYA.

In the report, the reported person who is still under investigation is suspected of violating Article 172 and/or Article 212 and/or Article 217 and/or Article 335 and/or Article 503 and/or Article 207 of Law Number 1 of 1946 concerning the Criminal Code.
