Puan Asks Former Ngada Police Chief To Be Fired From The Police: Give Strict Sanctions

JAKARTA - DPR Speaker Puan Maharani requested that the former Ngada Police Chief Ngada Police Chief AKBP Fajar Widyadharma Lukman Sumaatmaja be fired from the Indonesian Police (Polri) in the aftermath of cases of sexual abuse of children and pornographic videos. Puan assessed that Fajar should be given severe sanctions for his behavior that tarnish the institution.

"The perpetrator must be fired, and then must be given the harshest sanctions," said Puan, Monday, March 17.

Puan reminded the National Police not to let the AKBP Fajar case happen again in the future. Moreover, Fajar's case is categorized as a serious violation.

"And to the relevant agencies, don't let things like that happen again," he said.

The PDIP legislator for the Central Java electoral district also asked law enforcement officials to provide maximum protection for victims. Puan also asked that victims be given assistance and trauma recovery.

"Yes, victims must be protected, victims must be given rehabilitation in a traumatic manner, and in the future it should not happen again," he said.

It is known, on Monday, March 17, former Ngada Police Chief AKBP Fajar Widyadharma Lukman is scheduled to undergo a police code of ethics trial related to immoral cases and drug abuse. This trial was held behind closed doors at the TNCC Building at the National Police Headquarters starting at 09.00 WIB.

In this immoral case, there were four victims. Three of them are minors about the age of 6 years, 13 years, and 16 years. While the other is a 20-year-old woman.
