Jembrana Police, Bali, arrested a man with the initials HK (35), who was suspected of being a robber in Jembrana, when he was about to cross to Java via Gilimanuk Harbor.

"Every information on security disturbances, including through social media, we monitor and follow up. Including the alleged perpetrators of this robbery," said Jembrana Police Chief AKBP Endang Tri Purwanto as reported by ANTARA, Friday, March 14.

HK was initially viral on social media allegedly carrying out a robbery.

After receiving information that a man was suspected of being the perpetrator of a robbery in the Melaya sub-district, his party tightened the inspection at Gilimanuk Harbor, especially for suspected people and vehicles.

"Pemeriksaan di Pelabuhan Gilimanuk rutin dilakukan, tetapi saat ada informasi tindak kejahatan kami lebih memperketat lagi," katanya.

The Jembrana Police are still investigating the perpetrators.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Gilimanuk Port Area Police, Commissioner (Kompol) Komang Mulyadi, said the arrest of the alleged perpetrator was carried out at the port entrance or towards crossing to Java Island.

"When we checked his movements, they were suspicious. We also found evidence that led to the fact that the person concerned was involved in a crime," he said.

In addition to examining the alleged perpetrators, his party also coordinated with the Melaya Police as the place where the alleged crime occurred.

According to him, as Bali's gateway, Gilimanuk Port is a strategic area, including to prevent criminals from escaping from Bali.

Therefore, he said, routine inspections of vehicles, goods and people who go out and enter Bali continue to be carried out.
