Police Check Codeblu Not About Extortion But Hate Speech

JAKARTA - Food vlogger, Codeblu alias William Anderson, was questioned by the South Jakarta Metro Police some time ago. Apparently, the examination was not related to allegations of extortion but the spread of hate speech.

"Regarding the alleged spread of hate speech or hostility between groups, as regulated in Article 28 of the Law on ITE," said Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Ade Ary Syam Indradi to reporters, Friday, March 14.

The examination of Codeblu refers to a police report from a person with the initials ASS with the victim PT PHL.

In its report, there was an alleged spread of hate speech by unknown people. The trick, by creating video content uploaded on TikTok social media.

"Content on a tiktok account about news or information that a bread factory has donated to an orphanage in the form of expired bread or expired," he said.

In the upload, it was also stated that the factory that produces the bread is not clean. In fact, it is stated that there are rats in the factory.

"In the production process, it is not hygienic because there are rats and several dirty places as well as raw materials that have expired or expired by displaying products belonging to the victim, yes, PT PHL earlier, so the victim feels aggrieved," said Ade.

Codeblu previously emphasized that no extortion had occurred. According to him, the meeting was more of an interview to explore the chronology of events from start to finish. He revealed that all that happened was a professional cooperation offer process.
