TANGERANG Police managed to arrest the Director of PT Artha Eka Global Asia with the initials SEW (44) regarding the alleged Crime of Consumer and Industry Protection or Oil Trade without having an SNI SPPT and a BPOM Circular Permit. The arrests were made in the Karawang area, West Java, on Friday, March 14, at 07.30 WIB.

Dirreskrimsus Polda Banten, Kombes Pol. Yudis Wibisana, said that SEW was arrested because it was related to the case of manipulation of Minyakita and Clearness which was reduced by the volume of the dose.

"It's true, Unit 1 Sub-Directorate 4 of the Banten Police Ditreskrimsus has succeeded in arresting SEW as Director of PT Artha Eka Global," Yudis said in his statement, Friday, March 14.

SEW acts as a 1 liter bottle supplier, MinyaKita cardboard and Clearness, as well as a plastic bottle packaging label at the packaging location located in Kampung Kalampean, RT. 001/RW.004, Jambu Karya Village, Rajeg, Tangerang Regency.

In addition, SEW also received royalties from the use of the MinyaKita license and Clear oil which was reduced in volume.

"The suspect also received royalties from the use of licenses as well as selling and distributing MinyaKita and Clearness whose volume has been reduced," Yudis continued.

Currently, SEW has been taken to the Banten Police for further investigation to reveal the motive behind the case.

Previously, a retailer named Awaludin (38) was arrested by the police for manipulating the dose of Minyakitan-branded cooking oil and Clearness in Kampung Kalampean, Jambu Karya Village, Rajeg, Tangerang Regency. The mode is to reduce the volume of each 1 liter packaging by 220-300 milliliters.

"Based on the laboratory test of the Banten metrology, one package that should have been 1,000 milliliters or 1 liter was reduced by 220-300 milliliters," said Wadirreskrimsus Banten Police, AKBP Wiwin Setiawan, to reporters in Rajeg, Tangerang Regency, Wednesday, March 12.

Awaludin acts as the owner, head of the branch, as well as the manager of the cooking oil packaging business under the brand "Minya Kita" and "Depurity". The police secured evidence in the form of 13 tons of crude oil or bulk to be packaged.

"From the results of the examination, every bottle of oil packaging is 1,000 milliliters or one liter, but it is proven that the perpetrators reduced the volume," said Wiwin.

This case was revealed after the police conducted an investigation at the cooking oil packaging site on Monday, March 3. During the search, a number of evidences were found, such as a pump machine for oil and shelters.

The perpetrator is known to have purchased packaging, bottle caps, and labels from PT Eka Arta Global. The cooking oil was then distributed to the Tangerang and Serang areas.

"In addition to volume reduction, we also check the legality of the perpetrator's business. As a result, the perpetrator does not have a SNI SPPT or a distribution permit from BPOM," explained Wiwin.
