JAKARTA - Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, admitted that the leadership of the DPR has not received a Presidential Letter (Surpres) regarding the revision of the Indonesian Police Law (UU Polri).

This was said by Dasco in response to the news of the Surpres of the National Police Bill which was said to have been sent by President Prabowo Subianto on February 13, along with the Presidential Surpres of the TNI Bill to the DPR.

"Until now, I emphasize that the DPR has not received a presidential decree regarding the draft law, or a revision of the draft Polri Law," said Dasco after Minya Kita's inspection in Kramat Jati, East Jakarta, Friday, March 14.

The daily chairman of the Gerindra Party DPP did not provide further explanation regarding the issue of the Surpres for the National Police Bill.

"Similarly," concluded Dasco.

Previously, the National Police Bill was included in the mid-term priority list 2025-2029 together with the TNI Bill. Currently, the TNI Bill has been agreed to be discussed by the DPR with the government.

Minister of Defense (Menhan) Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin has also assigned the Secretary General of the Ministry of Defense to participate in discussing the bill with the DPR. His party wants the TNI Bill to be completed before the DPR recess.
