Minister Of Transportation Ensures Readiness Of BBJ And Wika Ports Ahead Of Homecoming

Minister of Transportation (Menhub) Dudy Purwagandhi ensured the readiness of Bandar Bakau Jaya Port (BBJ) and WIKA Port ahead of the Eid homecoming flow in 2025.

The visit was accompanied by Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavial, Governor of Lampung Rahmat Mirzani, and South Lampung Regent Radityo Egi Pratama.

"This review was carried out because the BBJ and Wika ports will be used for this year's Eid homecoming," said Minister of Transportation Dudy Purwagandhi, in Bakauheni Thursday, March 13, as reported by ANTARA.

He said, in general, the facilities at the BBJ and Wika ports were very adequate in terms of passenger safety and comfort.

"With the functioning of these two ports, it is hoped that they can accommodate travelers and there will be no accumulation of vehicles in the port area," he said.

The Minister of Transportation emphasized that transportation infrastructure plays an important role in smoothing the flow of homecoming in the port area.

"With this port, it is not mixed between goods vehicles and passengers, so with this separation, the journey from the travelers can be described and smooth," he said.

PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero) has imposed a new provision for purchasing online tickets for ferries starting December 11, 2023. This provision applies to Bakauheni Port, Merak Port, Ketapang Port, and Gilimanuk Port.

The new provision is that the ferry ticket booking can be made up to a maximum radius of five kilometers before the port.

This provision is stipulated in the Letter of the Director General of Hubdat AP.406/1/5/DJPD/2023 regarding the Arrangement of Electronic Ticket Ordering Services around the Port.
