"The enemy used air forces and special operations forces to break through our defenses, expel our troops out of the Kursk area and move the fighting to the Sumy and Kharkiv regions," said General Syrskyi.
Ukraine's General Staff said clashes on the front lines of Kursk were among the most intense in the conflict.
