7 Damaged Houses Affected By Land Shiftation In Purwakarta

The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) reported that seven houses were damaged and road access collapsed due to land shifts in Cisarua Village, Tegalwaru District, Purwakarta, West Java (West Java).

Head of the Purwakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) Heryadi Erlan said the shift in land in Cisarua Village was caused by heavy rains on Sunday, March 9 evening.

In addition to causing damage to seven houses, the shift in land also damaged a shop building. Including a place of worship in Cisarua Village, it was damaged and collapsed.

BPBD Purwakarta also reported that the land shift incident had resulted in the connecting road of Cisarua Village-Tegalsari Village experiencing an subsidence with a depth of about 15 centimeters.

Due to this incident, the officers temporarily closed the collapsed road access while waiting for repairs to be carried out by the relevant agencies.

The Purwakarta BPBD has also coordinated with related agencies related to further handling efforts such as repair and recovery of affected areas.

Erlan said the area around Cisarua Village was included in the vulnerability zone of the middle-medium movement, because it borders river valleys, cliffs and ravines.

According to BPBD Karawang records, two families fled to their relatives' homes, because the houses they occupied were badly damaged by land shifts in Bungur Sarang Village RT 007/004, Cisarua Village, Tegalwaru District, Purwakarta.

The seven houses that were damaged by the shift in land included Endang's house and Mrs. Marini's house which were heavily damaged and collapsed.

The other five houses that were damaged were Mrs. Masi'ah's house, Andi Hidayat's house, Mumuh's house, Sahro's house and Udin Syamsudin's house. The five houses on average experienced cracks on the walls and floors and there were several points of the room that collapsed.

Then the At-Taqwa Mosque building was heavily damaged and collapsed. Likewise, the shop building owned by Mrs. Marni, was also damaged.
