Prabowo Will Go To Vietnam, Complete The Economic Zone Agreement

President Prabowo Subianto stated that he would visit Vietnam as a return visit after the Secretary General of the Vietnam Communist Party (Sekjen PKV) To Lam made an official state visit to Indonesia.

Apart from being a form of return visits, Prabowo explained that his visit to Vietnam was also to finalize an agreement related to the economic zone.

"There I hope that we can sign the implementation of the agreement in our cooperation in our economic zone, namely the cooperation agreement between the two countries that solve a problem that we haven't resolved for a long time. Maybe a dozen years. Thank God it was finished," Prabowo said when delivering an official statement with Indonesia and Vietnam with the Secretary General of PKV To Lam at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, Monday, March 10, reported by ANTARA.

The visit, according to Prabowo, was scheduled after the moments of each parliament, both from Indonesia and Vietnam, ratified to discuss the economic zone.

Especially for Indonesia, in addition to waiting for ratification at the parliamentary level, the President is also considering that his visit to Hanoi, Vietnam can be done after the 2025 Eid holiday.

"God willing, it will be signed in Hanoi on my state visit in response to a noble visit (Secretary General of PKV To Lam)," said Prabowo.

Regarding the agreement between the Indonesian and Vietnamese Economic Zones, previously on Saturday (16 November 2024) it was reported that President Prabowo Subianto had committed to immediately ratify the exclusive economic zone boundary agreement with Vietnam.

At that time, the Head of State considered that close relations between Vietnam and Indonesia were very important and sought to strengthen this existing partnership.

Because of this very close relationship, Prabowo sees the need for acceleration to ratify the exclusive economic zone boundary agreement (EEZ) with Vietnam.

"We remain committed to accelerating the ratification process of our exclusive economic zone agreement. And of course, after that, we have to complete the implementation arrangements," Prabowo said.
