JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government will again hold a free Umrah program for mosque marbots in Jakarta. DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung said there was no open registration of the program.
The DKI Provincial Government, said Pramono, will select for itself who is the marbot of the mosque that will depart for Umrah to the Holy Land for free.
This was revealed by Pramono during a Ramadan safari at the At-Taubah Mosque, Klender, East Jakarta.
"The Jakarta government in the near future will start again to provide opportunities for lucky citizens to be able to carry out Umrah, and this will be done behind closed doors. Later the Jakarta government will appoint who will be appointed," said Pramono, Monday, March 10.
In addition, the DKI Provincial Government will also run the Operational Assistance program for Places of Worship (BOTI). The assistance in the form of funds for houses of worship of all religions has been running since the leadership of former DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan.
However, Pramono admitted that he could not confirm the value of the assistance and the total budget to be distributed. "I don't memorize the budget, but BOTI must be fair to all religions," said Pramono.
On that occasion, Pramono emphasized that the Ramadan safari activity he carried out with the Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta, Rano Karno, was in the context of friendship and listening to the aspirations of the people.
"The Jakarta government seriously wants to improve the relationship between ulama and Umara to be better. I as an Umara here really want to listen to what the community wants," Pramono explained.

For information, the free Umrah program for mosque administrators has previously been run by former DKI Jakarta Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (Ahok) and Anies Baswedan.
According to Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Rano Karno, the incentive program for house of worship administrators that has been running previously must be maintained and the innovation updated.
"So, we at the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government want to bring back free Umrah for mosque marbots. In fact, this is a good program and we must continue," said Rano at the Ramadan Safari at the Jami' Almuawanah Mosque, Senen, Central Jakarta, Wednesday, March 5.
Rano revealed that the DKI Provincial Government will coordinate with the Mosque Prosperity Council (DKM) throughout DKI Jakarta to select those who are entitled to go for Umrah.
In addition, Rano also claims that the DKI Provincial Government will pay more attention to the welfare of the administrators of houses of worship of all religions in order to uphold equality and justice for all religious communities.
"Of course we also pay attention to other religions, such as following spiritual trips to the Vatican or to India, for example," said Rano.
