Bank Indonesia Strengthens Synergy With The Kaltara Regional Government, Anticipates Inflation In The Regions

TANJUNG SELOR - Head of Bank Indonesia (BI) Representative for North Kalimantan Province, Hasiando Ginsar Manik, said his party was strengthening synergies with local governments to anticipate market dynamics, especially ahead of the Ramadan HBKN where inflation tends to increase.

In addition, Hasiando also said that the price of essential staples (bupokting) in Kaltara still depends on price developments in supply areas.

"This is because there is still a dependence on supply from other regions. So it is necessary to synergize TPID Kaltara with other provincial TPIDs, especially the province that supplies bapokting Kaltara, one of which is through efforts to cooperate between regions (KAD) to ensure supply availability in Kaltara," said Hasiando, Friday, March 7.

Meanwhile, the Deputy for the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, Ferry said that the government issued several policy instruments, including optimizing the increase in the provincial minimum wage (UMP), optimizing the distribution of social assistance and HBKN stimulus in the form of aircraft ticket discounts.

Then discount toll rates to stabilize food which is expected to increase public consumption and provide a multiplier effect on the economy, including in Kaltara.

"In supporting the national economic growth target, low and stable inflation is needed, so that the HLM Central Inflation Control Team (TPIP) is agreed for national inflation in 2025 in the range of targets of 2.5% 0-10% (yoy) and Volatile Food (VF) inflation in the range of 3.0-5.0% (yoy)," said Ferry.

In encouraging economic growth, one of the strategic issues of inflation in Kaltara is the operation of the port of Malundung which is often hampered.

"I once attended a field visit to the Port of Malundung which was also attended by the Director of Pelindo Management and the Mayor of Tarakan and received various inputs and strategic issues from the operation of the Port of Malundung," said Ferry.

"Perindo explained that the development plan to improve port performance is dredging, expanding ports, and adding cranes. We will continue to synergize in overseeing the port development process and coordinating with related parties to accelerate the development process," he continued.

Previously, the Governor of Kaltara Zainal A Paliwang gave his appreciation to all TPID and TP2DD members both at the provincial and district/city levels throughout Kaltara in an effort to maintain inflation at a low and stable level.

"Thank you for the performance of TPID and TP2DD which have also attempted to expand digitization in North Kalimantan Province, including strategic steps in the form of coordination efficiency so that the inflation control program and expansion of digitalization can run smoothly and effectively, especially ahead of the National Religious Holidays (HBKN) Ramadan and Eid Al-Fitr (RAFI) 2025," said the Governor.
