JAKARTA - Deputy Chairman of Commission XII of the House of Representatives Bambang Haryadi stated that there was no discourse on the formation of a special committee (pansus) by the DPR to address the corruption case of crude oil governance and refinery products at PT Pertamina.

Bambang emphasized that Commission XIII of the DPR entrusted the Attorney General's Office (AGO) to investigate cases with state losses which were estimated at Rp1 quadrillion.

"There is no discourse on the special committee, we believe in the professionalism of the Attorney General's Office. We are not included in the realm of law, please enforce the law as strictly as possible," Bambang told reporters, Friday, March 7.

Bambang said the DPR fully supports the law enforcement carried out by the AGO in investigating the Pertamina corruption case. The DPR also supports the Attorney General in collaboration with the BPK to calculate state losses in the case.

Bambang also emphasized that Commission XIII of the DPR did not want to withdraw this case into the political realm.

"We support and we leave it to the prosecutors and the BPK. Let law enforcement work thoroughly, there should be no political interference here," he said.

Previously, the AGO had named nine suspects in the alleged corruption case of crude oil management and refinery products at PT Pertamina Subholding and KKKS in the 2018'2023 period.

The nine suspects are Riva Siahaan (RS) as President Director of PT Pertamina Patra Niaga, Sani Dinar Saifuddin (SDS) as Director of Feedstock and Product Optimization of PT Kilang Pertamina Internasional, Yoki Firnandi (YF) as President Director of PT Pertamina International Shipping, Agus Purwono (AP) as VP Feedstock Management of PT Kilang Pertamina Internasional, Maya Kusmaya (MK) as Director of Central and Niaga Marketing of PT Pertamina Patra Niaga, and Edward Corne (EC) as VP Trading Operations of PT Pertamina Patra Niaga.

The other suspects are Muhammad Kerry Andrianto Riza (MKAR) as the beneficial owner of PT Navigator Khatulistiwa, Dimas Werhaspati (DW) as Commissioner of PT Navigator Khatulistiwa as well as Commissioner of PT Jenggala Maritim, and Gading Ramadhan Joedo (GRJ) as Commissioner of PT Jenggala Maritime and President Director of PT Orbit Terminal Merak.

Attorney General Sanitiar Burhanuddin also plans to apply the article on the death penalty against suspects in the alleged corruption case of crude oil management and refinery products of PT Pertamina for the 2018-2023 period.
