Cisarua Flash Flood, Bogor Immigration Office Distributes Aid

BOGOR Heavy rains that have flushed the Bogor Regency, West Java, since last Tuesday, have caused flash floods that hit several villages, including Tugu Village, Cisarua District.

Responding to the situation, the Head of the Bogor Immigration Office, Ritus Ramadhana, and his staff immediately took action by distributing social assistance through Bogor Berbakti and Peduli Immigration activities.

Floods early last week, he said, carried brown mud material and hit residents' homes, public facilities, and closed road access. At least 575 people were affected and forced to flee to safer places.

"This activity is a form of our solidarity and concern for others, in line with the priority programs of the President of the Republic of Indonesia and the 13 Acceleration Programs of the Minister of Immigration and Corrections, namely the provision of social assistance and the implementation of social services. We sincerely share with those in need, "said Ritus, Friday, March 7.

In the midst of Ramadan, this disaster further adds to the challenges for residents who have to survive in evacuation with limited facilities. The Head of the Bogor Immigration Office and his staff went directly to Tugu Village to distribute aid and review disaster locations.

"Hopefully this activity will provide great benefits for the recipients. What we are doing today is the first step in strengthening cooperation and concern in order to create a better, loving environment," he concluded.

The assistance provided was in the form of 100 food packages to help ease the burden on flood victims. In addition, the Bogor Immigration Office also affirms its commitment to carrying out routine social service activities in order to provide benefits to the community.

Ritus added that this assistance is expected to ease the burden on the victims and be an inspiration for other parties to participate in helping people affected by the disaster.
