Attending The World Muslim League Conference, MPR Chairperson Alludes To MBG Target Of 82 Million Children Per Day

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Indonesian People's Consultative Assembly Ahmad Muzani attended the World Muslim League conference entitled 'Towards Effective Islamic Unity' in Mecca, Saudi Arabia on Thursday, March 6, evening local time.

In his remarks, Muzani alluded to the target of free nutritious food (MBG) targeting 82 million children per day. He said the MBG program was one of the efforts to build and strengthen the nation.

According to him, Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto is very concerned about the unity and integrity of the Indonesian nation. According to Muzani, all development and natural wealth in Indonesia can only be done if there is unity and togetherness between the people and their leaders.

"For President Prabowo, unity is everything. All wealth and natural resources and development in any form will succeed if we remain intact and united. That is what President Prabowo Subianto is doing. So he is now promoting free nutritious food for all students and students from all over Indonesia," said Muzani in a statement received by reporters, Friday, March 7.

"The target to feed this nutritious is 82 million children every day. This is our effort to increase the human resources of the Indonesian nation in the future," he continued.

The Secretary General of the Gerindra Party said that Prabowo wanted the Indonesian people to become a strong nation, a nation that is a healthy nation, a smart nation and a nation that can stand on an equal footing with other nations.

Furthermore, Muzani said, currently Indonesia is the second largest Islamic country in the world with a Muslim population of 230 million people or about 87 percent of the total 280 million Indonesians. He said, Indonesia is a large country consisting of 17 thousand islands, 13 thousand tribes, and 700 different languages.

Of course, said Muzani, this fact is proof that differences are his own identity and wealth for the Indonesian people. This difference is then circulated in one language, namely Indonesian which is a language that comes from the melayu family.

"The first part we do is we bind ourselves to the same language. Among us, we agree on the Malay language clump. The language that is not the majority language is the language of unity. That is the forerunner of Indonesian language which is currently used by all Indonesian people and people," explained Muzani.

However, Muzani continued, various upheavals based on ideology have occurred and have been experienced by the Indonesian people. Conflicts also occur due to differences in vision between the central government and local governments.

These experiences, according to him, were used as lessons by President Prabowo Subianto so that in the future similar things would not happen again.

We are fully aware that religion encourages us to do so. Islam gives encouragement to it. We fully realize that the value of Islam is noble and high. Therefore, we are not discouraged and must be confident that the Islamic spirit of the Indonesian nation can unite with the same forces as other nations," concluded Muzani.

In this conference, the speakers were the Secretary General of the World Muslim League, Muhammad Abdul Karim Al-Isa. The muftians, midwives, and high priests of Islamic countries who are members of the OIC. This conference has been running twice and the first at that time was titled Building a bridge between Mahzab-mahzab Islam'.
