The Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police, Komjen Wahyu Widada, said that Indonesia was still vulnerable to narcotics trafficking. Although, massive prosecution efforts were carried out.

The National Police is known to have uncovered thousands of drug trafficking cases over the past two months. Even the confiscated evidence reached 4.1 tons.

"Our success in uncovering the illicit trafficking of drugs is certainly a matter of pride, one success. But on the other hand, we must also see that Indonesia is still vulnerable," Whayu told reporters, Wednesday, March 5.

The circulation of narcotics in Indonesia seems endless. In fact, the National Police and other related parties often make efforts to eradicate it.

"We have made many disclosures. Friends from BNN have also made disclosures, but they are still there," he said.

Therefore, law enforcement officials must not stop taking action against the circulation of narcotics titles. This is because the nation's young generation is at stake.

"This proves that this is one of our challenges and let's work together, join hands, carry out stronger synergies to continue relentlessly, tirelessly to combat illicit drug trafficking," Wahyu said.

Previously reported, Bareskrim Polri revealed 6,881 narcotics cases during the period January to February 27, 2025. From the series of prosecutions, 4.171 tons of various types of narcotics were confiscated.

Details of the narcotics confiscated were 1.28 tons of methamphetamine; 346,959 pills or the equivalent of 138,783 kilograms; 493 kilograms of marijuana; 3.4 kg of cocaine; 1.6 tons of gorilla tobacco; and 2,199,726 pills or 659,917 kilograms of hard drugs.

Of the thousands of cases revealed, Bareskrim and the regional police have named 9,586 suspects who have been prosecuted in several parts of Indonesia.
