JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung visited one of the evacuation posts for residents affected by the flood at Otista Sports Hall, Bidara Cina, Jatinegara, East Jakarta.

Arriving at the location, Pramono entertained and distributed gifts to children who were forced to leave their homes to evacuate. Pramono also had time to talk with the displaced residents.

One of the residents complained to Pramono about the loss of goods due to the flood that hit him several days ago. He admitted that his children could not go to school because their school equipment was washed away.

"Although the goods are washed away, yes, we are sincere, sir. There must be a solution. We are all the same. Bags, clothes, shoes are washed away. Automatically tomorrow the children won't go to school," said the resident to Pramono, Wednesday, March 5.

The Chinese Bidara resident also asked Pramono to provide school supplies so that the children who were flood victims could return to their education as usual.

Responding to this, Pramono admitted that he had ordered the East Jakarta City Government and the Education Office to supply all the needs of residents affected by the flood.

"I told Mrs. Wali, Mrs. Kadis to be given assistance later, ma'am," answered Pramono.

After the visit, Pramono said he wanted to ensure that all basic needs of the people affected by the flood could be met.

"From reports directly from residents, they all get the best service, there is no shortage whatsoever. Enough food, they can also break the fast, get enough sahur, and even think more," he explained.

Meanwhile, the Acting Mayor of East Jakarta, Iin Mutmainnah, said that his party was currently recording the children who were victims of the flood to provide assistance according to their needs.

"We have data with the Head of the Education Sub-dept., which schools are victims of flooding. We make sure they can go to school. We also coordinate assistance with Baznas as well," explained Iin.
