Police Investigate Bullying Junior High School Students In Palangka Raya Until Victims Shout "Ill"

The police are investigating cases of bullying or bullying of fellow junior high school students in Palangka Raya City, Central Kalimantan Province (Kalteng).

"The report has been received and will be followed up by the investigative team. Whether a summons, clarification, or investigation will be carried out, we are waiting for the investigation team after receiving it from the SPKT," said Head of Public Relations of the Central Kalimantan Police, Kombes Pol Erlan Munaji in Palangka Raya, Tuesday, March 4, confiscated by Antara.

He revealed that this investigation was based on reports that came to his side on February 28, 2025.

"Of course we will first study the report and examine the witnesses and the evidence we have obtained," he said.

Erlan said the video of bullying by junior high school students circulating on social media would be one of the clues in the investigation of this case. For this reason, the entire community is asked to wait for the investigative team to carry out their duties and trust the investigation process to Central Kalimantan Police investigators.

"There will definitely be an examination of anyone related and involved in this alleged abuse case. Moreover, the victim and the alleged perpetrator are minors, so they need a special method," he said.

For information, a private junior high school student in Palangka Raya City became a victim of bullying by his schoolmate and was recorded by a colleague of the alleged perpetrator, on Friday, February 21.

In the 1 minute 15 second video, the victim is seen being hit repeatedly on the body and head and shouting "sick".

Meanwhile, the school, which knew about the incident, had provided mediation facilities to the victims and suspected perpetrators, and imposed sanctions on dismissal from school to the perpetrators.
