Kostrad Deploys Flood Victim Evacuation Troops In Depok

JAKARTA - Army Strategic Reserve Command (Kostrad) deployed troops to evacuate flood victims in Jabodetabek, Tuesday.

One of the areas visited by Kostrad personnel is Jalan Bukit Pasir, Pasir Gunung Selatan Village, Cimanggis District, Depok City, West Java (West Java).

Citing Kostrad's official press release, the Depok flood was one of the main focuses of Kostrad because the flood height had reached more than 2 meters.

The flood occurred due to the overflow of the Ciliwung river that crossed the area.

There were 34 soldiers from Yonkav 1/BCC/1 Kostrad who were deployed to the location to evacuate residents. They evacuated the victims by guiding the residents one by one through the swift flood currents.

Not only that, the personnel also evacuated the victims using rubber boats that had been prepared by the Kostrad ranks.

The personnel also provided every life vest resident not to drown during the evacuation process.

"In order to prioritize safety or safety in helping residents, so that evacuation can run safely and smoothly," Commander of the 1/BCC/1 Kostrad Battalion (Danyonkav), Lt. Col. Kav Sidik Pramono in the press release.

Sidik continued, residents were evacuated to the nearest post to get emergency assistance. Sidik also appealed to the public to remain vigilant about the possibility of rising water levels considering the current rainfall is quite high.

"If you need further assistance, the public can contact the nearest post or emergency hotline that has been provided," said Sidik.

Sidik ensured that his party would continue to be on standby to receive public calls if needed assistance.

"According to the instructions and orders of the Kostrad Leadership, we are ready to assist residents in need," said Sidik.
