Zelensky's Statement Regarding The Russo-Ukrainian War Makes Trump Inflamed

JAKARTA - United States President Donald Trump criticized Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky on Monday for his comments saying the deal to end the war with Russia was far away.

"This is the worst statement Zelensky can make, and America will not tolerate it any longer!", wrote President Trump on his Truth Social platform, quoted from Reuters on March 4.

"This is what I said, this person does not want peace as long as he has American support and, Europe, in the meeting they held with Zelensky, stated firmly that they could not do the job without the US. - Maybe not a good statement to make in terms of a show of strength against Russia," President Trump added in his post, quoted from the Associated Press.

"What do they think?" he said.

At an event at the White House on Monday afternoon President Trump referred to President Zelensky's reported comments, asserting the Ukrainian leader "should not be true about that."

"If someone doesn't want to make a deal, I don't think that person will last long," said President Trump.

"That person will not be heard for a long time," he added.

President Trump has questioned Zelensky's statement stating that it will take time to reach an agreement to end the war.

The comments follow President Trump's public clash with President Zelensky on Friday last week in the Oval Room, the White House before what is expected to be the signing of an agreement on Ukraine's natural resources.

The agreement was never signed after President Trump and Vice President JD Vance criticized the visiting leader for being less grateful for US assistance and being disrespectful.

Not only that, a joint press conference that was originally scheduled to be held after the meeting that day was also canceled.

It is known that President Trump moved quickly to contact President Zelensky and Russian President Vladimir Putin last month, saying the two wanted peace and war to end. Washington and Moscow then increased communication by holding meetings in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and Istanbul, Turkey, a move that raised fears Ukraine and Europe would be abandoned in the White House Leaders' agreement with the Kremlin Leaders.
