Ciliwung River Melawan And Rendam 28 RT In Jakarta, Air Capai 1.5 Meter

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) reported that 28 neighborhood units (RT) in South Jakarta and East Jakarta were flooded due to the overflow of the Ciliwung River.

"As of 04.00 WIB, floods occurred in 28 RTs," said Head of the DKI Jakarta BPBD Data and Information Center, Mohamad Yohan, Monday, March 3.

He explained that heavy rains that flushed Jakarta and its surroundings on Sunday, March 2, caused an increase in the status of the Katulampa Dam in Bogor, West Java.

At 20.20 WIB, his status rose to alert 3 or alert, then increased to standby 2 at 20.40 WIB. At around 21.30 WIB, Katulampa Dam reached alert 1 or danger.

At the Depok Monitoring Post, standby status rose gradually, from standby 3 at 21.40 WIB, standby 2 at 00.00 WIB, to standby 1 at 00.30 WIB. Meanwhile, the Angke Hulu Monitoring Post entered standby 3 at 23.00 WIB, which also caused flooding in several areas of Jakarta.

BPBD noted that 11 RTs in South Jakarta were affected by flooding, spread across the following villages:

- Lenteng Agung Village: 2 RT, water level 30-40 centimeters. - Tanjung Barat Village: 2 RT, water level 40 centimeters to 1.15 meters. - Rawajati Village: 1 RT, water level 30 centimeters. - East Pejaten Village: 6 RT, water level 1.3 meters to 1.5 meters.

In East Jakarta, floods hit 17 RTs in the following villages:

- Bidara Cina Village: 3 RT, water level 60 centimeters. - Kampung Melayu Village: 4 RT, water level 65 centimeters. - Balekambang Village: water level 50-90 centimeters. - Cawang Village: 5 RT, water level 1.3 meters. - Cililitan Village: 2 RT, water level 30 centimeters to 1.5 meters.

According to BPBD, all of this flood was caused by the overflow of the Ciliwung River which was unable to accommodate the water discharge due to heavy rains.
