JAKARTA PT Agro Industri Nasional (Agrinas) continues to show its commitment to supporting national food security by holding Rice Harvest Perdana and Farmers' Grain Absorption in Subak Umase, Sibang Gede Village, Abiansemal District.
This activity also realized President Prabowo's instructions regarding the minimum price of grain absorption of Rp. 6,500 per kilogram. This event was attended by the Sedana Sedana Farmers Group Amerta Sari and various related parties.
In his remarks, Agrinas Leader, Major General TNI (Ret.) Yos Trioso, SE, emphasized the importance of synergy between farmers, the government, and the private sector in realizing food independence. He stated that the policy on the lower limit of grain aims to protect farmers from harmful market fluctuations. Agrinas is also committed to forming a Central Food Production Area (KSPP) to improve agricultural efficiency and stability of harvest prices.
"Depending on imports must be reduced by an industrial-based agricultural system. Agrinas plans to adopt a more efficient concept of the Food Brigade and has direct access to banking, so that farmers can be economically independent without relying too much on government assistance," said Yos Trioso.
As part of a long-term strategy, the government has prepared a national food barn reserve in Merauke with an area of 1.8 million hectares. If each province is able to achieve food independence, this area can be focused on exports. With the collaboration between Agrinas, Bulog, TNI, and farmers, it is hoped that national food security can be maintained in a sustainable manner.
This activity also includes symbolic harvests and the absorption of grain from farmers with cash payments to avoid doubt among farmers. The harvest in Subak Umase achieved productivity of 5 tons per hectare, reflecting a positive trend in supporting national food security.
