Tragedy In Asahan: DPR Asks For Heavy Punishment For Stepfathers And Mothers Who Allow Child Rape

JAKARTA - Member of Commission III of the DPR from the Democratic Party (PD) faction, Hinca Panjaitan, highlighted the case of child rape by a stepfather in Asahan Regency, North Sumatra. Hinca asked the police to immediately process the law of the stepfather and the victim's mother who allowed her child to be forced into inheritance for inheritance.

Hinca appreciated the Asahan Police Chief and his staff who were considered quick to respond to the case. He asked the two perpetrators to be severely punished.

"Respects to the Asahan Police Chief who responded quickly. We ask the law enforcement process to the two perpetrators immediately. Their actions really hurt our sense of justice, especially the child's future," said Hinca, Thursday, February 27.

The Democratic legislator from the North Sumatra electoral district also praised the courage of the victims who complained about this case to the police.

"This is an incident in my hometown. I am very sad. I empathize with the victim, the daughter is innocent. I appreciate the courage of this girl, by filing a complaint with the Bandar Paser Mandoge Police, the jurisdiction of the Asahan Police," said Hinca.

Hinca reiterated that this case should not be allowed to drag on. According to him, victims and the community need to get justice immediately.

"The public wants justice to be seen and felt immediately. The law of the perpetrators is severe so that it does not happen again in the future," he said.

"Protect and we take care of the good name of the girl, she has the right to a good future. She is a hero of justice, because she dared to make this very tough decision," he concluded.

Reportedly, a teenage girl with the initials R (16) in Asahan Regency, North Sumatra, has been a victim of rape by her stepfather S (59) since 2019.

Unfortunately, victim W's mother knew about the incident. However, W was reluctant to prevent her husband's actions because he was promised inheritance in the form of an oil palm plantation.
