JAKARTA - Chairman of Commission II of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Rifqinizamy Karsayuda, responded to the decision of the Constitutional Court (MK) which ordered the Indonesian KPU to hold a re-vote in 24 regions.
Along with the Circular (SE) of the Minister of Home Affairs (Mendagri) Tito Karnavian regarding budget efficiency which will serve as a guide for regional heads in carrying out the 2025 APBD.
Rifqi said, if necessary, re-voting can use funds from the state budget (APBN).
"Regarding budget efficiency, I think after all, 24 decisions of the Constitutional Court will become an obligation for each APBD. If it is needed in accordance with the provisions of Law 10 of 2016, the State Budget can provide assistance," Rifqi told reporters, Tuesday, February 25.
In principle, Rifqi emphasized that the Constitutional Court's decision must be implemented immediately. "Because if not, we don't just respect the constitution. But, on the other hand, we don't get a definitive regional head for the election results," said Rifqi.
He also hopes that the implementation of PSU (re-voting) in 24 regions can run smoothly without any more lawsuits.
Furthermore, the NasDem legislator said that Commission II of the DPR would evaluate the Constitutional Court's decision with the regional election organizers. The DPR RI, said Rifqi, will ask for clarification from the KPU to Bawaslu this week.
"Of course this Constitutional Court decision will be an evaluation for Commission II of the DPR RI, our plan is that this week we will immediately summon all election organizers and government representatives in order for all of us to respond and prepare to implement all decisions of the Constitutional Court," said Rifqi.
If there is an unprofessionalism, carelessness, or an error in applying the law to the existence of election organizers, Rifqi ensures that Commission II of the DPR will be very serious in conducting evaluations.
