The Constitutional Court Decides On Re-voting For The Serang Regency Regional Head Election

SERANG - The Constitutional Court (MK) has decided that the General Election Commission (KPU) of Serang Regency conduct a re-voting (PSU) for the 2024 Serang Regency Pilkada.

The decision was read by the Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court Suhartoyo in the agenda of reading the case decision Number 70 of 2025 PHP of the Serang Regent.

"Ordered the Serang Regency KPU to carry out the PSU for the 2024 Serang Regent and Deputy Regent Elections at all polling stations in Serang Regency," Suhartoyo said as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, February 24.

The SU is carried out by referring to the Permanent Voter List (DPT), Additional Voter List (DPTb), and Special Voter List (DPK) which are the same as the November 27, 2024 Election.

The implementation of the PSU must also be guided by laws and regulations without reporting back to the Constitutional Court.

"It will be carried out within 60 days from the time the a quo decision is pronounced," he said.

Thus, said Suhartoyo, the Constitutional Court's decision canceled the decision of the Serang Regency KPU Number 2028 of 2024 concerning the determination of the results of the election for the Regent and Deputy Regent of Serang. The Constitutional Court also ordered the Serang Regency KPU to immediately coordinate and carry out supervision.

"Apart from the KPU, the Serang Regency Bawaslu must also immediately supervise and coordinate in supervising the PSU," he said.
