Defeated Win In VII National Conference, Fathan Subchi Elected As PB IKA PMII Chair 2025-2030

JAKARTA Fathan Subchi was elected as Chair of the Executive Board of the Indonesian Islamic Student Movement Alumni Family Association (PB IKA PMII) for the period 2025-2030. He won a landslide victory in the VII National Conference (Munas) which was held at the Sahid Hotel, Jakarta, February 21-23, 2025.

In the election, Fathan won 188 votes, far ahead of three other candidates: M Purnama Sidi and Imam Nachrawi who each got 4 votes and Zaini Rahman who only got 2 votes. This absolute victory shows the strong support of PMII alumni for him.

Fathan currently serves as a Member of VI of the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) of the Republic of Indonesia. Previously, he had been a Member of the Indonesian House of Representatives for three terms and Deputy Chairman of Commission XI of the DPR RI. He also has a long track record at PMII as a former Chairman of the PMII Jakarta Branch and is active in various organizations, including the General Chairperson of the Demak Bintoro Nusantara Association (PDBN) and the Trustees of the All-Indonesian Teachers Association (PGSI) of the Central Java DPD.

After being elected, Fathan expressed his gratitude for the trust given by PMII alumni throughout Indonesia. He emphasized the importance of alumni consolidation to strengthen roles in various fields.

The potential of PMII alumni is very large. Many take part in the bureaucracy, legislature, business sector, education, and religious leaders. We must consolidate this power in order to provide wider benefits for the nation and state," said Fathan in his statement, Sunday (23/2/2025).

According to him, so far there is a lot of potential for PMII alumni who have not been well organized. This makes their contribution not optimal. He is committed to building stronger networks, from the district to the national level.

"I am sure, if the potential for alumni is well consolidated, the leverage will be extraordinary, both for alumni themselves and the wider community," he said.

Fathan also emphasized that IKA PMII has a strategic role in coloring the nation's journey. With strong roots and a long history of struggle, this organization can contribute greatly to realizing the vision of Indonesia Gold 2045.

"Currently, Indonesia is strengthening itself in the development of human resources, downstreaming of natural resources, and optimizing infrastructure. IKA PMII must take part in realizing this great goal," he concluded.
