Two Missing Boys, Allegedly Drifting In Bekasi River, Search Still Ongoing

BEKASI - Two children were reported missing and allegedly washed away while playing on the banks of the Bekasi River, RW 014 area, Kemang Ifi Housing, Jatirasa Village, Jatiasih District, Bekasi City, West Java, at around 15.00 WIB, since Friday, February 21, 2025.

The victim's belongings, such as bicycles, sandals, and pants, were found in the area of RW 014, RW 06, and RW 013.

"According to witness testimony named Aska (9 years old), the victim was playing and looking for fish on the banks of the Bekasi River, and saw the two victims being swept away and disappeared from sight," said M. Fazry, Commander of the Bekasi Basarnas Team, Saturday, February 22, 2025.

The victims were Muhamad Fawaz Akbar (8 years), and Arsaka Raditya Putra (9 years). As of Saturday, February 22, 2025, the joint team for the search for victims consisted of BPBD Bekasi City, Babinsa Jatiasih, Bimaspol Jatiasih, KatAR RW 014, the surrounding community, volunteers from KSB Jatirasa, Management RW 014, RW 04, RW 06, personnel from KSB Jatiasih, were still searching the area. However, until the news was broadcast, the two victims had not been found.
