Following Megawati's Instructions, West Kalimantan Singkawang Walkot Delays Departing For Retret Of Regional Heads

Mayor (Walkot) of Singkawang, West Kalimantan (West Kalimantan), Tjhai Chui Mie postponed his departure following a retret of newly appointed regional heads at the Military Academy of Magelang, Central Java. This decision follows instructions from the Chairperson of the PDI-P (PDIP) Megawati Soekarnoputri.

"We will have a meeting first at the Yogyakarta PDIP DPD, now I am in Jogya," said Tjhai Chui Mie, in a statement received in Singkawang, West Kalimantan, Friday, February 21, which was confiscated by Antara.

Megawati instructed regional heads promoted by PDIP not to take part in the briefing or retreat event which was held on February 21, 2024 at the Magelang Military Academy.

The emergence of Megawati's instructions was after the detention of PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).

This is contained in the PDIP official letter numbered 7294/IN/DPP/II/2025 which was signed by General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri on Thursday, February 20.

In the letter, Megawati instructed all regional heads from PDIP who are currently on their way to Magelang Regency to immediately stop and turn back to their respective homes.

"Regional heads and deputy regional heads are to postpone travel that will follow the retreat in Magelang on February 21, 2025. If they have been on their way to Magelang City to stop and wait for further directions from the General Chair," Megawati wrote in the letter.

In addition, Megawati also ordered hundreds of PDIP regional heads to remain actively communicating with the PDIP DPP to wait for further developments related to national political developments.

"Stay in active communication and stand by command call," he said.
