JAKARTA - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky received US President Donald Trump's Special Envoy for Ukraine Keith Kellogg, after a rift that occurred throughout the week linked to efforts to end the war with Russia this weekend even entering its third year.
In his post on social media X President Zelensky wrote he had a productive meeting with Kellogg, thanking him for all the assistance and bipartisan support of Uncle Sam's country.
President Zelensky said he had held detailed discussions about the battlefield situation, how to repatriate prisoners of war to effective security guarantees.
"Since the first second of this war, Ukraine has been seeking peace. We must and can ensure that peace is strong and lasting, so that Russia will never retaliate with war," President Zelensky tweeted on X, as quoted on February 21.
"Ukraine is ready for a strong and effective investment and security agreement with the President of the United States. We have proposed the fastest and most constructive way to achieve the results," President Zelensky continued.
Kyiv's leader said the success of uniting Ukraine-US, in which relations between the two countries are strongly claimed to benefit the whole world.

In a separate post, President Zelensky wrote that his meeting with the retired lieutenant general restored hope.
"We need a strong agreement with the US, a real deal that will work. I have instructed my team to work quickly and very wisely," he tweeted.
"Economics and security must always go hand in hand, and the details of this agreement are important, the better the structure, the bigger the results," he added.
President Trump is pushing for a quick deal to end the war and has alarmed Washington allies in Europe by not including them and Ukraine in initial talks with Russia this week in Saudi Arabia.
