Hasto Detained, PDIP Against: Megawati Bans Cadres From Retrets Of Regional Heads In Magelang

Megawati's order was conveyed through letter numbered 7294/IN/DPP/II/2025 issued today, Thursday, February 20 or after PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto was detained by the KPK.

"It was instructed to all regional heads and deputy regional heads of the PDI-P as follows: regional heads and deputy regional heads to postpone travel that will take part in the retret in Magelang on February 21-28," Megawati wrote in a letter obtained from a source on Thursday evening, February 21.

Megawati ordered them to wait for further directions from him if they had traveled.

"If you have been on your way to Magelang City to stop and wait for further directions from the general chairman," he said.

Not only that, Megawati also asked regional heads to remain active and on standby for further orders. This instruction was issued by Megawati who observed the dynamics of national politics after Hasto was detained.

He said that there had been legal criminalization. Megawati alluded to having control in providing instructions for regional heads from PDIP.

"Given Article 28 Paragraph 1 AD-ART of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle that the general chairman as the center of political power of the concurrent party, is responsible, responsible and acts both inside and out on behalf of the party and for the existence of parties, programs, and party performance, all party policies and instructions are directly under the control of the Chairperson of the PDI-P," he explained in the letter.

Megawati directly signed the letter. Then listed the red party stamp with a picture of a white-nosed bull.

Diberitakan sebelumnya, Sekjen PDIP Hasto Kristiyanto resmi ditahan terkait kasus suap pengurusan pergantian antarwaktu (PAW) anggota DPR RI dan perintangan penyidikan. Ia akan menempati Cabang Rumah Tahanan Negara dari Rumah Tahanan Negara Klas I Jakarta Timur selama 20 hari dan bisa diperpanjang sesuai kebutuhan penyidik.

Hasto dijerat dengan Pasal 21 Undang-Undang Nomor 31 tahun 1999 tentang Pemberantasan Tindak Pidana Korupsi sebagaimana telah diubah dengan Undang-Undang Nomor 20 tahun 2001 tentang Perubahan atas Undang-Undang Nomor 31 tahun 1999 tentang Pemberantasan Tindak Pidana Korupsi Jo. Pasal 55 ayat (1) ke-1 KUHPidana.

As for the bribery case related to PAW, members of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI), the process will be carried out stimulus. This is because the investigation warrant (sprindik) issued on December 23, 2024, focuses more on the application of Article 21.
