JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Environment Agency (LH) will deploy 400 cleaning officers in the National Monument (Monas) area and its surroundings during the inauguration of regional heads at the State Palace and Monas on Thursday, February 20.

They will clean up trash during the inauguration activities until the people's party welcoming the Governor-Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta tomorrow.

"Of the 400 cleaning staff, we will alert 150 officers at the time of the inauguration of the regional head and 250 officers will be alerted after the inauguration is complete. This is to ensure cleanliness and comfort during the event," said Head of the DKI Jakarta Environment Agency Asep Kuswanto to reporters, Wednesday, February 19.

Later, as many as 150 officers will be placed in the Monas area, 25 officers on Jalan Medan Merdeka Utara, 50 officers on Jalan Medan Merdeka Timur, 100 officers at City Hall to Jalan Kebon Sirih, 50 officers on Jalan Medan Merdeka Barat and 50 officers on Jalan Medan Merdeka Selatan.

In addition, the Department of Environment and Jakarta will also operate 11 sweeper roads, 12 cross-cars, 12 inorganic trucks, 2 compactor trucks, 26 toilet buses, 4 portable toilets, and 21dust bins.

"For the location of the placement of toilet buses, at Monas as the main location for the inauguration of regional heads, 25 units will be provided in the main tent and 2 units in additional tents," explained Asep.

For a series of special events for welcoming the Governor and Deputy Governor of Jakarta, 2 toilet units will be provided at the DKI City Hall and 1 unit at the DKI Jakarta DPRD Office.

On that occasion, Asep appealed to all residents who took part in the people's party to actively participate in maintaining cleanliness.

"We urge residents to be orderly, dispose of garbage in its place, and bring environmentally friendly means of eating such as tumblers and re-users to reduce the use of single-use plastics, in order to minimize waste," he added.
