Reshuffle Mendiktisaintek Soemantri, DPR Hopes Its Replacement Can Translate Presidential Mission Vision

JAKARTA - Deputy Chairman of Commission X DPR RI Lalu Hadrian Irfani admitted that he was surprised by the issue of the reshuffle of the Minister of Higher Education, Science and Technology (Mendiktisaintek) Satryo Soemantri Brodjonegoro.

Hadrian said Commission X of the Indonesian House of Representatives had not received the information officially. But if true, he said the change of officials was a prerogative of the president.

"We at Commission X of the DPR hope that the new minister, who will replace the current Minister of Education and Technology, must be able to translate the vision and mission from President Prabowo," said Hadrian at the Parliament Complex, Jakarta, Wednesday, February 19, which was confiscated by Antara.

So far, Hadrian has conveyed that communication between Commission X DPR RI and Satryo has not experienced any problems.

According to him, Satryo has attended several work meetings with legislators to deliver higher education programs and plans for Garuda's flagship school program.

"Yesterday, our last working meeting was also due to budget efficiency, he also insisted that the budget for higher education, be it scholarships, BOPTN, and so on, not be disrupted by budget efficiency," he said.

Regarding the emergence of Brian Yuliarto's name, which was rumored to be changing Satryo, according to him, President Prabowo was the most understanding figure in choosing his assistants.

Brian Yuliarto is a Professor of the Faculty of Industrial Technology from the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB).

"This replacement must be greater, better, the vision and mission of higher education, science and technology, it must be better and greater than Prof. Satryo," he said.

Previously, Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya said President Prabowo Subianto was scheduled to inaugurate several state officials at the Presidential Palace Complex, Jakarta, Wednesday afternoon.

The inauguration schedule was revealed by Seskab Teddy in the midst of the reshuffle issue of one of the ministers of the Red and White Cabinet, namely the Minister of Higher Education, Science and Technology, Satryo Soemantri Brodjonegoro.

"Today there will be the inauguration of several officials. In the afternoon, yes," said Seskab Teddy when contacted Wednesday, February 19, as reported by Antara.
