JAKARTA - A total of 944 regional heads and deputy regional heads have completed health checks at the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) on 16-17 February 2025. There are still 17 people who have not attended, with some of them conveying reasons for absence.

Deputy Minister of Home Affairs (Wamendagri) Bima Arya Sugiarto said, of all regional heads and their representatives who reached 961, it is scheduled to be inaugurated by President Prabowo Subianto on Thursday, February 20.

"A total of 17 people have not been present. Some have given reasons, some have not. We are waiting for a medical check-up report because this is the most important thing," said Bima Arya.

If the medical check-up report is available, those who have not undergone an examination will be directed to Magelang to complete the procedure. Health checks of regional heads are the main requirements for the inauguration and the implementation of regional head recruitment on February 21-28, 2025.

Bima Arya revealed that there were several regional heads who received special attention because they had a history of surgery in the last six months, including heart surgery.

"Those who have an operating history will be given leeway in the retreat program, especially activities that require excellent physical needs. Health remains a top priority," he explained.

In addition, there are regional heads who apply for permission not to take part in the retreat in Magelang because of their daughter's wedding. The Ministry of Home Affairs understands this condition and allows the person concerned to take part in the next briefing.

After the health checks of regional heads and their representatives, they will follow a series of agendas before the inauguration, including a briefing at Monas, Tuesday (18/2/2025) at 07.00 WIB, a rehearsal for the inauguration on Wednesday (19/2/2025), and the inauguration by President Prabowo Subianto on Thursday (20/2/2025).
