President Prabowo Forms A Gold Bank And Inaugurated February 26, 2025

JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto formed a special gold storage bank which is the first time in Indonesia and will be inaugurated on February 26.

"We will form a gold bank, so so far we do not have a bank for our gold, not in Indonesia," Prabowo said while giving a press statement at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, Antara, Monday, February 17.

Prabowo explained that the reason for the formation of a special gold bank in Indonesia was because of the gold commodity produced by domestic mines, then exported without any special storage in the country.

Therefore, the President will also inaugurate the gold bank on February 26, 2025, and be the first in the country.

"Our gold is mined a lot and flows abroad. We want to now have a special bank for gold in Indonesia. God willing, we will inaugurate it on February 26, I think this is the first time in our republic," said President Prabowo.

On the same occasion, President Prabowo announced Government Regulation (PP) Number 8 of 2025 which requires all exporters to store foreign exchange funds from the export of natural resources (DHE SDA) at domestic banks.

The PP is the latest regulation governing the DHE SDA issue, which was previously regulated through Government Regulation (PP) Number 36 of 2023.

Prabowo also announced a number of policy driving economic growth in the first quarter of 2025, including optimizing the distribution of social assistance, to disbursing THR for ASN and private workers in March 2025.
