In The Aftermath Of Budget Efficiency, The DKI Provincial Government Strikes Out Allowances For Heroes' Families

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has removed the allowance budget allocation for the family of heroes, widows of heroes, and widows of pioneer independence in the 2024 APBD.

This was conveyed by the Head of the DKI Jakarta Social Service through a notification letter for the abolition of the budget allocation for awarding awards addressed to the hero family

"We hereby convey that the budget allocation for awarding the families of heroes, widows of heroes and widows of pioneer independence will be eliminated starting from the 2025 fiscal year," wrote Premi, quoted on Friday, February 14.

Premi admitted that the deletion of the budget allocation for the hero family allowance was carried out in the context of budget efficiency that the DKI Provincial Government had to do.

"This decision was taken in order to optimize regional financial policies in order to adapt to the priority of development and social welfare in DKI Jakarta Province," said Premi.

Premi claims that the DKI Provincial Government understands that awarding the family of heroes, widows of heroes and widows of pioneer independence is a form of appreciation for the great services of the heroes and pioneers of independence in fighting for the nation's independence.

"Therefore, even though the budget allocation in the form of awarding is no longer available, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government remains committed to continuing to respect the services of the heroes through policies that are relevant and sustainable in the future," he explained.

Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Teguh Setyabudi previously issued Governor's Instruction (Ingub) Number 2 of 2025 concerning Efficiency and Expenditure Adjustments for Fiscal Year 2025.

A number of reduced budget allocations include reduced official travel budgets, ceremonial activities, studies, comparative studies, as well as seminars and FGDs.

Then, the efficiency of operating spending that does not have measurable output, savings in food and beverage budgets, grants to more selective ministries or institutions, and adjustments to 2025 APBD expenditures sourced from transfer funds to regions.

"We map out which posts can be refocused, which may not be optimal later or not, we will temporarily star or block, so how much will we get later," explained Teguh in his explanation.

"Later, we can also support strategic programs from the elected governor and deputy governor and strategic programs from the central government that have not been clear. Later the execution will be in Pak Pram's era," he added.
