Demanding SPPD Money, Former Chairman Of The Rejang Lebong DPRD Holds 2 Official Cars

Prosecutors from the Rejang Lebong District Attorney's Office (Kejari) Bengkulu accompanied the process of withdrawing two official vehicles belonging to the Rejang Lebong Regency DPRD which had been detained by elements of the leadership of the council for the 2019-2024 period.

Head of the Rejang Lebong District Attorney's Office, Francisco Tarigan, said that his party was asked by the Secretariat of the Rejang Lebong Regency DPRD to withdraw two official vehicles from Mahdi Husen, the former chairman of the Rejang Lebong DPRD for the 2019-2024 period who had not been returned.

"As state attorneys, we summoned the person concerned to attend on February 11, 2025 by bringing two official cars he controlled to the Rejang Lebong Kejari, and today we will hand over the official vehicle to the Rejang Lebong Regency DPRD Secretariat," he said as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, February 12.

He explained that the summons to the former chairman of the local DPRD was immediately filled with two units of Toyota Sitena official vehicle number BD 1285 KY, and another Toyota Avanza number BD 1505 KY.

"We, as state attorneys from the Kejari Rejang Lebong, would like to thank the person concerned for consistently returning the two units of the official vehicle he had controlled," he said.

Head of the Civil and State Administration Section (Datun) of the Rejang Lebong Prosecutor's Office, Ranu Wijaya, said the reason the former chairman of the Rejang Lebong DPRD detained the two official vehicles was because there were rights that had not been paid by the Rejang Lebong DPRD Secretariat, in the form of payment of official travel orders (SPPD) and work room rehabilitation money using his personal money totaling Rp. 100 million.

"The nominal is almost one hundred million rupiahs, and we are asked to convey this to the secretariat of the council. We will then submit it to the Secretariat of the DPRD because we do not interfere in this regard," said Ranu.

Secretary of the Rejang Lebong DPRD, Rector Vande Armada, thanked the Kejari Rejang Lebong for helping to withdraw two units of official vehicles belonging to the Rejang Lebong Regency DPRD.

"For the SPPD submitted by the former chairman of this council after we checked that the budget had run out, so it could not be paid. Meanwhile, I did not know that the change in the head's work room rehabilitation money, at that time I had not served at the Rejang Lebong DPRD," said Rector Vande Armada.
