TANJUNG SELOR - A number of Damri bus routes in North Kalimantan (Kaltara) had to be stopped after the issuance of Presidential Instruction (Inpres) Number 1 of 2025 related to budget efficiency.
Acting Head of the Kaltara Transportation Service, Andi Nasuham, said that land transportation serving pioneering routes in Kaltara had to be stopped operations such as the Tanjung Selor route to Long Tungu, Tanjung Palas Barat District.
"Damri yang mengarah ke Long Tungu di stop, selain alasan jalannya yang rusak, juga adanya kebijakan efisiensinya mereka tidak beroperasi," kata Andi Nasuha, Rabu, 12 Februari.
In addition, the route that is affected by efficiency is not operating, namely Malinau to Seputuk.
"We regret this is happening, but this is a central policy to save the budget and must be implemented," he said.
"Even though in Seputuk it is very much needed, because it is a new area," he added.
The Tanjung Selor route to Tanah Kuning in Tanjung Palas Timur District, was previously also affected by efficiency. His party also asked for a policy and finally the route to Indonesia's green industrial area (KIHI) could operate again.
"Alhamdullilah, Damri buses to Tanah Kuning are still operating, but there is a reduction in schedule from 2 times a day to 1 time," he explained.
Meanwhile, the commercial route that is currently still operating is Tanjung Selor to Tana Tidung Regency (KTT), then from the summit to Malinau including Malinau Salang.
"The commercial one is still operating, related to plans for new routes from Malinau City and Sebatik, which are temporarily postponed until there are instructions from the center," he said.
