South Kalimantan Police Seize 33 Kg Of Methamphetamine From The Fredy Pratama Network, 3 Couriers Also Arrested

The Directorate of Drug Investigation of the South Kalimantan Regional Police (Ditresnarkoba Polda Kalsel) managed to confiscate 33 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine from the Fredy Pratama network which was smuggled into Banjarmasin from West Kalimantan.

"Three people were arrested as couriers, namely BS, SN and DI," said Director of Drug Investigation at the South Kalimantan Police Kombes Kelana Jaya in Banjarmasin, Antara, Wednesday, January 12.

This disclosure is a joint operation with Bareskrim which continues to monitor the movement of Fredy Pratama's network in Indonesia. Kelana explained that initially information was received from the public that there was a plan to send large quantities of methamphetamine from Pontianak, West Kalimantan.

The results of coordination with Bareskrim strengthened the application of scientific analysis methods, obtained the characteristics of the car being driven to carry narcotics.

The field team led by the Head of Sub-Directorate II of the Narcotics Directorate of the South Kalimantan Police AKBP Zaenal Arifien divided the duties of its members to several points of ambush, including in the border area in Central Kalimantan which is the entrance to South Kalimantan.

As a result, vehicles with pocketed characteristics finally crossed Jalan Trans Kalimantan Kilometer 12, Sungai Lumbah Village, Alalak District, Barito Kuala Regency.

The ambush did not go smoothly, the perpetrator tried to escape and hit the officer.

The chase ensued until finally the perpetrator's car hit a tronton car carrying heavy equipment so that the car stopped.

"We took firm and measured action because the perpetrator's actions had endangered officers and other road users," explained Kelana.

The evidence is 33 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine wrapped in 31 packages of green Chinese tea packaging.

"Scientific analysis methods is carried out professionally so that it can reveal the crime of drugs in this cross-border international network," added Kelana representing the South Kalimantan Police Chief Inspector General Rosyanto Yudha Hermawan.
