The Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park Center (TNBTS) stated that the route to Mount Bromo via Malang Regency, East Java can be passed by vehicles belonging to tourists, on Tuesday, after previously being affected by landslides.

"For access (to Mount Bromo) from the Malang Regency route, it is normal, it is back to smooth," said Head of the Public Relations Evaluation Data Team of the TNBTS Center Hendra Wisantara as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, February 11.

The landslide incident, on Monday (10/2) on the route to Ngadas Village, Poncokusumo District, Malang Regency, caused the route to Mount Bromo through Malang Regency to be cut off.

Apart from Ngadas Village, landslides also occurred on the main route of Gubukklakah Village and access to Distance Ijo Hamlet. This area is also an access road to the Bromo tourist area from Malang Regency.

When the landslide occurred, his party together with joint officers and the local community immediately moved quickly to clean the road from landslide material consisting of soil and trees.

"Meanwhile, tourists wait in a safe location until the landslide can be resolved and the route can be passed again," he said.

Separately, the Head of Emergency and Logistics Division of the Malang Regency Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) Sadono Irawan, said the process of cleaning the route to Mount Bromo carried out by joint officers was fully completed at 16.00 WIB.

"Handling and cleaning of all avalanche points have been completed and traffic flow returns to normal. Roads covered with materials can be passed by vehicles," said Sadono.

However, BPBD officers and related staff are still monitoring the route that was previously affected by landslides.

"Monitoring the Gubugklakah route to Ngadas related to subsequent landslides," he said.

The BPBD in its report also stated that the landslide incident was caused by heavy rain weather that occurred from early morning until yesterday afternoon. The incident did not cause any casualties.
