100 Days Of Prabowo's Government: Ministry Of Foreign Affairs: Diplomacy Continues To Work, Responds To Unfair Economic Practices

JAKARTA - Indonesian diplomacy continues to work to ensure active participation and role at the global level, within 100 days of President Prabowo Subianto's administration, said Indonesian Foreign Ministry spokesman Roy Soemirat.

Roy said that there were many concrete steps in diplomacy led directly by President Prabowo and Foreign Minister Sugiono in the 100 days of the current government.

Not wanting to make their own claims, Roy said that Indonesian diplomacy continues to work, both to fight for national interests and to contribute to world peace, security and prosperity.

"There are many concrete steps in the first 100 days. There are various kinds of active diplomacy that are even led directly by President Prabowo," Roy said in a press statement in Jakarta, Friday, February 7.

He further explained that various visits made by President Prabowo and Foreign Minister Sugiono in the first 100 days had resulted in various business agreements, including bringing foreign investment to Indonesia.

Roy said that during the visits, Indonesia also asked for and received support from various countries related to various kinds of government priority programs, including downstreaming to energy and food security.

"During the first 100 days consistently and continuously, foreign officials need to implement the President's instructions so that Indonesia can continue to play its role, profiles in the international arena more strongly, can become the driving force and leading country in defending the interests of developing countries, or global communities," he said. ,

"And there are many derivatives, both regarding Indonesian membership in various forums, or what things Indonesia will convey in the forum," said Roy.

With the existing consistency, it will not surprise Indonesia to consistently voice the same things about justice that developing countries must fight for, regarding the issue of Palestine, regional and other global issues, based on existing standards, Indonesia will always talk consistently in various forums.

"Of course Indonesia will not leave diplomacy in the region, diplomacy in ASEAN will continue to be carried out, including how to seek joint efforts to maintain the dynamics of security and stability of the region more strongly," said Roy.

Regarding the dynamics in the South China Sea (LCS), Roy said Indonesia will continue to actively participate and continue to encourage the completion of the LCS Code of Conduct (CoC) negotiations which have entered its fifth year, the third stage of discussion of the draft CoC.

"It should be remembered that the CoC, which is being discussed by all relevant parties, the ASEAN state and its partners, is not a forum to resolve the region. Because, regional disputes, border disputes, overlapping claims that the region must be resolved through the channels of the bilateral dialogue mechanism," said Roy.

Roy added that the also big focus of the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs is the implementation of economic diplomacy.

"We will not remain silent, but will respond to various practices or economic policies that are unfair, including Indonesia's superior commodities and products," said Roy.

Regarding the efficiency announced by the government, Roy said, as part of the administration of President Prabowo's administration, the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs will participate in doing things that have been decided nationally with various impacts and consequences.

"We remain here, continue to work, regarding further matters, of course we will make adjustments as necessary, without reducing things that are very principal so that it does not become common concern at this time," he concluded.
