JAKARTA - Director of Investigation of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Asep Guntur Rahayu said there was no other purpose when attending a pretrial hearing against PDI-P Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto at the South Jakarta District Court (PN) on Wednesday, February 5.

It is known, Asep together with the Deputy for Enforcement and Execution of the KPK, Rudi Setiawan, came to the South Jakarta District Court. Both of them had entered the pretrial courtroom and were held and sat for a while.

"Our presence is to provide support to the KPK legal team," said Asep when contacted by VOI, Thursday, February 6.

Moreover, his presence in pretrial is actually not special or because he has been suspected of intervening. Asep said he had done the same thing when the legal bureau team underwent a pretrial lawsuit trial related to several cases.

Among them, continued Asep, when the KPK was sued by a pretrial by the suspect in the corruption case of the acquisition of PT Jembatan Nusantara by PT ASDP (Persero). "Not just this time (we are present, ed)," he said.

"We have been present several times or several pretrials to provide support to the legal team from the KPK," continued Asep.

Previously reported, the Secretary General of the PDI-P (PDIP) filed a pretrial because he did not accept being named a suspect in the alleged bribery in the management of interim replacement (PAW) members of the DPR RI and the obstruction of the investigation. This lawsuit is registered with case number 5 / Pid.Pra / 2025 / PN JKT.SEL and Djumyanto act as the sole judges.

In this case, Hasto was named a suspect along with Donny Tri Istiqomah as a PDIP lawyer. This determination is the development of the PAW bribery case that ensnared former KPU commissioner Wahyu Setiawan and his fugitive, Harun Masiku.
