JAKARTA - Deputy Chairperson of the Gerindra Party Fadli Zon was angry when the name of the founder of Nahdlatul Ulama KH Hasyim Asy'ari disappeared from the Indonesian History Dictionary Volume I, Ministry of Education and Culture.

For Fadli, this is a serious problem that must be investigated further.

"An investigation must be made immediately, why the important figure KH Hasyim Asy'ari who initiated the Jihad Resolution could be lost, while the communists could exist. This is a serious problem", said Fadli, quoted by VOI via his Twitter account, @fadlizon, Tuesday, April 20.

Protests over the loss of KH Hasyim Asy'ari's name were also filed by the artai kebangkitan Bangsa (PKB). According to PKB, it is strange if the name of the hero is lost while the name Abu Bakar Ba'asyir actually exists.

PKB also urged that this dictionary should be withdrawn from circulation. "The national hero and founder of NU are not recognized by the books published by the Ministry of Education and Culture. Meanwhile, figures who have considered supporters of radicalism have a place in the books", said PKB Secretary-General Hasanuddin Wahid.
