One Of 8 Victims Died In Deadly Accident On Ciawi Bogor Toll Road Identified

The Ciawi Toll Gate accident killed 8 people and 11 injured.

BOGOR - Police revealed that of the eight victims who died in a fatal accident involving six vehicles at GT Ciawi 2, one of them has been identified. While the rest is still under investigation.

"Identities of the victims have been identified," said Head of the Bogor Police Traffic Unit, Kompol Yudiono, when confirmed, Wednesday, February 5.

Now the identified body is at Ciawi Hospital, Bogor, West Java.

"Still at the Ciawi hospital, the other seven have not. Obviously, it can be the one in Ciawi Hospital," he said.

Yudiono explained that the trigger for this deadly accident was that the driver of the construction water truck was still saved. However, maintenance is still being carried out, so they cannot be questioned.

"The driver (water truck) is not yet conscious. He is safe, we will ask for information later, so the cause will be later," he said.

Meanwhile, added by the Bogor City Police Chief, Kombes Eko Prasetyo, the chronology of the accident began when a mineral water truck suspected of having a failed brake hit a vehicle in line to make transactions at the Ciawi Toll Gate.

The truck was unable to stop its vehicle and eventually hit a number of other vehicles.

"It is suspected that the brakes failed. But we are still investigating the cause of the collision," he said.
