MAKASSAR The South Sulawesi Regional Police (Polda Sumsel) has again detained a suspect with the initials AS in the case of alleged possession and circulation of dangerous cosmetics, after previously undergoing detention at Ibnu Sina Hospital Makassar.
The Head of Public Relations of the South Sulawesi Police, Kombes Pol. Didik Supranoto, explained that the US suspect is now being held at the South Sulawesi Police Detention Center after being declared healthy by a doctor.
"Based on the results of the doctor's examination, the suspect's condition has improved and can be sent home for outpatient treatment. Furthermore, the suspect was taken to the South Sulawesi Police Rutan for detention," said Kombes Didik, quoted by ANTARA Thursday, January 23.
Previously, the US complained of illness when it was about to be detained at the Tahti Detention Center of the South Sulawesi Police. At this request, investigators carried out an arrest in accordance with Supreme Court Circular Letter Number 1 of 1989.
Apart from the US, another suspect with the initials MS has already been detained, while the suspect MH is still undergoing medical treatment at Permata Hati Hospital since Wednesday, January 22.
"The condition of the suspect MH is currently still not possible to be detained due to high tension, headache, and nausea," said Didik.
The doctor at Ibnu Sina YW-UMI Hospital in Makassar, Nurhidayat, stated that the condition of the suspect AS had improved after undergoing treatment.
"The general condition and health complaints have improved compared to when he first entered. He was treated by a specialist in internal medicine, as well as a cardiologist and blood vessel," he said.
Despite being declared home, the US is still being given medicine for outpatient treatment. He left the hospital on Wednesday night under strict police escort.
In this case, investigators from the South Sulawesi Regional Police have named three suspects, namely MH, MS, and AS. They are suspected of violating a number of articles in consumer and health protection regulations.
"The three suspects were determined after the results of laboratory tests from BPOM Makassar found 67 items of cosmetic products containing hazardous chemicals such as mercury," said Kombes Pol Didik.
