Minister Of State Secretary Ensures Ministries/Institutions Obey Prabowo's Instructions On Budget Efficiency

JAKARTA - Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi ensured that all ministries and institutions (K/L) support and carry out President Prabowo Subianto's instructions for budget efficiency.

"Nothing is not pleasing, because this is a spirit of togetherness," said Prasetyo, quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, January 23.

Prasetyo said President Prabowo had instructed his staff to carry out budget efficiency through reducing activities such as seminars, comparative studies, official trips to work visits.

He assessed that by reducing these activities, the state could save up to tens of trillions of rupiah. These funds can be diverted for more productive things.

"Approximately tens of trillions if we save it can be used for something much more productive. I think that's the spirit. So there are no K/L friends who feel reduced. Indeed, our spirit is together," said Prasetyo.

President Prabowo Subianto instructed the government's budget efficiency of IDR 306.69 trillion in the APBN and APBD for Fiscal Year 2025 to maintain fiscal stability and support more optimal public services.

The target is contained in the document of a copy of Presidential Instruction (Inpres) Number 1 of 2025 concerning the Efficiency of Expenditures in the Implementation of the State Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBN) as well as the Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBD) for Fiscal Year 2025.

Through this inpres, the President directed a number of state officials, ranging from the ministers of the Red and White Cabinet, the TNI Commander, the National Police Chief, the Attorney General, to governors, regents, and mayors to carry out budget efficiency measures in various sectors.

The main points of the inpres directive are the determination of the target for budget efficiency of IDR 306.69 trillion, consisting of IDR 256.1 trillion from the ministry/institutional budget, IDR 50.59 trillion from transfer to the regions.

President Prabowo also instructed restrictions on non-priority spending. Governors, regents, and mayors are required to limit ceremonial spending, comparative studies, and official travel, with a 50 percent reduction in official travel.

In addition, efficiency also targets honorarium spending and supporting activities that do not have a measurable output.

In his instructions, the President directs all ministries/agencies to focus on public service performance.
